Looking Towards the South - Devil's Slide

100.00

Limited to an edition of 30, these 5 color reductive linocut prints capture the view of the Farallon Islands off in the distance from the treacherous spot of California coast known as Devil's Slide. The printing processes are highlighted through overlaps of color on the edges and slight ink remnants throughout the page. Each print is numbered and signed.

About the artist: James L. Tucker is master printer and owner of The Aesthetic Union. In addition to collaborating with many artists, he has been exploring the California landscape in his own way. He creates a personal mythos of the areas he investigates, depicting the intersection of dreams and reality.  Using linocuts via letterpress, his ink colors overlap, envelope, and leave blank spaces to define the bareness and immense beauty of what the prints capture.
