THE AWE OF IT ALL

Driving out to Colorado this summer I stopped by an odd travertine hill in the middle of a dry Nevada valley. Fifty feet above me laid the eye of a giant cauldron of turquoise boiling water.

As soon as the dust settled from the long off-road journey there, a massive thunderstorm rolled across the valley. Lightning struck the top of the ominous hill and I watch the desert sands become a shallow lakebed around me.

This piece was conceived that moment and brought to life at Anderson Ranch Art Center under the supervision of Drew Bennett

Small Works SF has created a limited number of custom frames to accompany this print.
